Cookies and similar storage
Cookies are small values a website can store in a browser and send with later requests. Local storage also saves information on your device but is not automatically sent with every web request. Privacy rules can apply to both, depending on their purpose and applicable law.
This policy covers Chalk Mentor’s public website and current learning app. Read it with our Privacy Policy.
The public website
The public website and app share first-party Supabase session storage to keep you signed in and show your account name. Beta registration may temporarily store PKCE verification data for the email-confirmation flow. The session entries are described below. There are no analytics, advertising pixels, or cross-site tracking integrations. Demonstration choices and unsent form fields stay in page memory while the page is open. The website theme follows your device’s setting without saving a separate website preference.
Your browser may cache website files, images, videos, and fonts as part of normal loading. Google Fonts receives connection information when fonts are requested. Cloudflare hosts the website and account gateway and processes request information and operational logs. Supabase processes account and session requests. New hosting or security integrations need a storage review and policy update before they go live.
Storage used by the learning app
The app uses first-party local storage to remember work and preferences. Saved work and preference entries have no automatic expiry; they remain until cleared by you or the browser. Authentication credentials follow the session rules below.
sb-<project-ref>-auth-token- Supabase session credentials, including access and refresh tokens, used to keep you signed in. Expired access tokens are refreshed while the session remains valid. Logging out removes this browser’s session. PKCE verification data may also be stored temporarily during email-link flows.
chalk-mentor-library-v1:<user-id>- Chats, boards, drawings, notebooks, drafts, and profile details, saved in the current browser.
chalk-mentor.preferences.v1- Your choices, including appearance, font, panel preferences, and chat and voice settings.
chalk-mentor.tutorial.v1- Whether you have completed or dismissed the introductory tutorial.
These entries support saving and preference features; they are not advertising identifiers. Saving them does not itself upload them, but relevant saved chat and board content is included when you make an AI request. No marketing-cookie consent is implied by using these features.
Managing or removing storage
Use your browser’s site-data settings to inspect, block, or clear storage for the website and app. If they use different addresses, manage each separately. Blocking or clearing app storage can remove lessons or prevent future saves. Export your library first using Settings → Data & privacy.
Settings → Restore defaults resets preferences, not lessons. Deleted chats remain recoverable until emptied in Settings → Chat history. Clearing browser data does not remove exported files, sent emails, backend image files, or copies held by a service provider.
Microphone permissions are separate from cookies and can be revoked through your browser or operating-system settings.
Consent and future changes
The public site does not currently offer an “accept all” banner because it has no optional analytics or advertising storage to accept. This does not mean all storage is automatically exempt from consent requirements.
Before adding optional tracking or storage requiring consent, we must provide relevant information and a genuine choice, keep it inactive until the required consent is obtained, and allow consent to be withdrawn. Hosting changes and new app features also require a fresh storage review.
